The World Complexity Science Academy Journal (WCSAJ) is the flagship serial imprint of the World Complexity Science Academy (WCSA). WCSAJ is a peer-reviewed, double-blind, “open access” academic publication focusing broadly on the contemporary intersections of the fields of sociology, political science, and communication. The Journal particularly privileges the epistemic approach behind “Systemics and Complexity Theories,” therefore interdisciplinary academic works are welcome (e.g., economics, psychology, digital media, internet studies, and philosophy). Since the Journal is a global intellectual property, we invite manuscripts for peer-review consideration originating from anywhere in the world. The official language of WCSAJ is Standard British English; all submissions must be written in the English language. WCSAJ is an open-access journal, and so the content published here is available to read and to distribute freely – however, the content is copyrighted by the authors – and published here through a Creative Commons BY-NC 4.0 International license.
The mission of WCSAJ is to actively publish scholarship of the highest global academic standard after careful and thorough peer-review evaluation has been conducted by the world’s leading experts in the Social Sciences and Humanities. Researchers will have the opportunity to showcase their findings on a high-volume readership platform using the latest advanced multimedia content to enrich the overall reading experience. Unlike many paper-based journals, the WCSAJ deploys rich digital content to accentuate the published work online. WCSAJ is meant to be consumed through an Internet-networked computer or tablet reader, and not merely a two-dimensional piece of paper. Our articles, reviews and essays are structurally enhanced by the online multimedia context brought forth by the “communications revolution.” The scope of the Journal is established broadly on complexity studies; with a worldwide audience, we, therefore, favour contributions that make predictions for the future of a global society so long as such predictions are rooted in a historical trend-line type analysis. Our goal is to understand tomorrow- by what has happened in the past and what is happening with the present. Since “complexity” conclusively takes many forms, the Journal welcomes both qualitative and quantitative methodologies. We do not discourage research based upon a scholar’s methodological or analytical approach.
